HPP Summit Frequently Asked Questions and Answers


  • Where is the event being held?
    • October 3rd– Cornhusker Marriot Hotel, October 4th– Nebraska Innovation Campus Convention Center, October 5th– Cornhusker Marriot Hotel.
  • Who should attend?
    • Food & Beverage companies, retailers, packaging companies, anyone interested in food safety and how HPP can help.
  • How many days is it?
    • The summit has a welcoming reception on October 3rd, speakers on October 4th and speakers and a tour on October 5th.


  • Where do I fly into?
    • If you’re flying from or through Chicago, Minneapolis or Denver you can fly into Lincoln Airport (LNK.) It is typically cheaper to fly into Omaha Airport (OMA) and drive or take a shuttle to Lincoln.
  • How do I get to the hotel?
  • I don’t drive. Is there transportation service such as a bus available between Omaha and Lincoln?
    • There is a service called OmaLink which goes from the Omaha airport to Lincoln. They leave Omaha 12 times a day but have limited seating, make your reservations here: http://www.omalink.com/services/
  • Where do I reserve my hotel room at the group rate?
  • I’m arriving early or staying extra days. Can I still get the group rate at the hotel?
    • Yes, other than with Nebraska football in full swing, the hotel will not be able to offer the group rate on the weekends.
  • Are there any other hotels that are offering a group rate?
    • Not at this time, if we book additional rooms at another location, we will notify you as soon as possible.
  • I travel with a service animal. Is it welcome at the hotel and the event?
    • Yes- when making your hotel reservation, please let them know that you will have a service animal. Service animals are welcome in the conference center as well.
  • When is the latest I can depart from Lincoln or Omaha airport?
    • Omaha- Typically, the last flight out of Omaha is around 8:30pm.
    • Lincoln- Typically, the last flight out of Lincoln is around 6:30pm.


  • Where do I check in and get my badge?
    • At the reception on October 3rd and at the check-in table on the 4th.
  • Will you be offering vegetarian or gluten-free meals?
  • Where do I meet for the tour of the UNL Food Processing Center?
    • There is a sky bridge that connects the conference center wih the Food Innovation center. There will signage and staff will direct attendees to the tour starting point.
  • How long is the Universal Pasteurization tour?
    • We estimate 1.5 hours.
  • What should I keep in mind for the Universal Pasteurization tour?
    • You will need to sign an NDA to go on the tour. Please remove any jewelry and leave any bags you may have. Photography is not allowed on the tour. Also keep in mind that this is a refrigerated space, so you may want to bring a jacket.
  • How long is the University of Nebraska Food Innovation Center tour?
    • About 50 minutes.
  • Can my company set up an exhibit?
    • We will not have exhibitor space available for this year’s summit.
  • Will the presentations be handed out?
    • Presentations available to registrants and the public domain will be posted on the HPP Summit site by October 6, 2016.
  • Why is there an NDA requirement for the Universal Pasteurization tour?
    • UPC values the privacy of their customers and asks that you sign an NDA agreeing to maintain that privacy.
